Enjoy Troy! Being centrally-located in Troy, NY lends many opportunities for social and recreational activities. Prospect Park, located right in our backyard, consists of approximately 80 acres of green space, including 14 tennis courts, and provides panoramic views of the Collar City below. Students will also find many eclectic bars, restaurants, cafes and shops downtown to gather for study sessions and socializing.
On the last Friday of each month, the downtown BID hosts a themed “Troy Night Out,” where businesses and organizations offer special incentives and events for people to come out and explore the shops, arts and music venues, and restaurants of Troy. Many of the downtown businesses even offer special discounts to our residents.
If you’re on campus without a car, or looking to save on gas and vehicle emissions, the CDTA bus system helps students travel the city with ease. They’ll even get you to Albany or Schenectady for special events or exploration. There are also several annual festivals to look forward to throughout the year, including the Victorian Stroll, River Fest, Troy Pig Out, Chowderfest, Rockin’ on the River and more!
